For this commission I built a huge home library. The home library is located in an ancillary coach house and was completed as part of a renovation of the building. The library covers 4 walls including a mezzanine and holds approximately 3000 books. The library is constructed of white oak veneered birch plywood with solid oak edge banding. Sliding dovetail joints were used to fix the shelves in place as they provide a strong and concealed joint as well as allowing for assembly onsite which was important given the size of the library. Once the library was complete I also built a solid white oak china cabinet to be used in the kitchen of the primary residence.
